Joslyn Wilson

Joslyn finds peace in the meditative rhythm of her loom, the colours of the threads and the geometric patterns of their interlacement. Preferring to work with natural fibres, she continues to explore the structure of woven cloth and all its possibilities.

Weaving seems like a natural progression of her life's journey. An itinerant maker, she finds satisfaction in using her own cloth to create finished products. The mathematical and mechanical nature of the craft allow her to finally put her engineering degree to use, while the required meticulous attention to detail had been refined during her career as an anesthesiologist. Of course, her inner jazz musician is partial to improvising on a long warp!

Located in a rural setting outside Ottawa, Canada, she is inspired daily by her natural environment, her daughter and husband, and her two Corgis, Willow and Indigo.
